[BUSINESS UPDATE BLOG] This Week Has Not Gone As Planned!

This week HAS NOT GONE AS PLANNED.

You know when you're running your business and then something unexpected happens, which then causes a string of unfortunate events to occur?

This has happened MULTIPLE times to me and I thought I would share 2 lessons from being able to scale Aussie Biz Chic to what it is today and how to get over those hurtles.

CONTEXT: What turned into 20 minute time at the warehouse, ended up being ALL DAY.

LESSON 1: Accept what is, Let go of what was, and have faith in what will be.

  • I had TWO failed attempts at business before Aussie Biz Chic.

  • I've spent money on a photographer that gave me not so great photos (learnt my lesson here, and ended up going with a "professional" after that debacle lol),

  • Spent $4000 on a PR agency and got no real great results from it. (this one stung!!)

When things don't go as planned it's not really a "bad" thing.

It's just a learning curve.

When you also start to get bigger, the problems that arise are a lot more challenging too.

Business is just as much about solving your own problems as it is proving a service/product to help your customers solve theirs!

What's going to set YOU apart, is having the bravery to keep going, pivot if you need and surround yourself with the right people to help with that.

LESSON 2: Comparing yourself to others isn't always a bad thing

Myth: Comparing ourselves to others is bad

Truth: Comparing ourselves to others is not an inherently ‘bad’ thing. It’s actually an important characteristic of human social life. The ability to compare ourselves is one of the reasons humans have been able to thrive. We can make important decisions when we compare.

✅ I often like to compare other businesses marketing tactics, website design, industry standards to myself to pinpoint where I'm at and what I can potentially implement.

💔It only starts to get toxic when you begin to have feelings of inferiority. You need to re-frame your mind & stop basing your self-worth on someone’ else’s life and actions.

Remember, social media is such a miniscule part of someone's business. I'm known for sharing the "behind the scenes" but I can tell you I don't share every single inch of my life and business.

You'll NEVER see me breakdown on social media, because I'm not one to whip out my camera and start filming something like that for people to get entertainment from it.

What makes me realise that all the "downs" are what makes the "highs" amazing is providing a product and service that brings a smile to faces and actually helps too!

Eventually our boxes did get picked up and I'm starting to see all the tagging come through :-)

P.S. As part of Aussie Biz Chic, we have exclusive masterclasses each month. We have one coming up about comparing yourself negatively to others.

We are sending this box out STRAIGHT AWAY when new members sign up. So if you want to get in on the unboxings, you can join now via the website.
